What George-O didn't see coming, of course, was climate chaos brought by our obsession with short-term profits and shareholder value over all else, so maybe we're looking at a future where the smothering authoritarianism of "1984" meets the bloody tribal strife of "Road Warrior."
Thus the two Georges -- Orwell and Miller -- will stand side by side shaking their heads at the unholy union of their dark prophecies.
