Or possibly that isn’t said. I basically just now made it up. But if, if it were true that small microcosms can represent a vast whole, I offer you The City of St. Catharines, Ontario. Famed location of the historic Morningstar Grist Mill, the Ontario Lacrosse Hall of Fame and the Fairview Mall, St. Catharines is a jewel in the royal crown of the British Commonwealth. Beyond its historic grist, it is the hometown of world-class rower Melanie Kok, the city’s 2005 and 2008 Athlete of the Year, and one of the highest obesity rates in the country: 53.7%. Not too shabby.
Though it is located in the upper reaches of our continent, the frigid Land of Canadia, St. Catharines turns out to be the genome of American society. Unlock her secrets and she is us:
