I believe it was Martha Cooper who commanded me to memorize Lincoln's Address (not 1600 Pennsylvania Ave HAHA) in 5th grade. And while I have never not once felt compelled to recite it in a (failing) battle to stave off memory failure, I think with just one or two prompts I'm still capable of retrieving it. Thanks Martha. And Thanks Goofer.
Another gem, Bob. Laugh-out-loud moments aren't easy to generate on the page, but you seem to perform this magic effortlessly, and for that I'm grateful. Laughter may or may not be the "best medicine," but it sure as hell beats slumping at the breakfast table, head in hands, despairing over the latest infuriatingly idiotic move to come out of Washington and/or MAGA Lardo.
And oh, have I been there: it seems something goes "missing" around here every other day, some item that I ALWAYS know exactly where it is because I ALWAYS put it back in exactly the same place ... only this time I didn't. With no mental breadcrumbs to follow, the search then commences, during which I can feel my IQ dropping like the stock market on a bad news day.
So ... pretty much everything tRump says these days is moronic, but -- as you point out -- the way he ends these long, splenetic tweet-diatribes with "Thank you for your attention to this matter " is like something out an "Alice in Wonderland" reboot for cable TV. Our zone has been flooded with a veritable tsunami of shit, and here we are without a paddle.
But at least we can still laugh, for the moment, anyway. And for that -- as always -- thanks!

I don’t usually laugh out loud reading Substack in the morning. Today I did. Thank you Bob!
By the way, I think dogs understand much more of what we say than we give them credit for. However, they are wonderful creatures and accept us anyway.

🧵I can’t believe that the War Powers Resolution, or whatever the House Democrats called yesterday, ONLY FAILED BY ONE VOTE, 213-214 !
As I understand it, Rep. Massie voted WITH the Democrats, while another Republican voted PRESENT and Rep. Mace DIDN’T vote at all.
And people wonder why I find it hard not to go back to bed in the morning, after about an hour of emptying my spleen and girding my loins!
🧵O, God, I love you, and I love God for making you!
That’s THAT, and you can’t do anything about it !
