You’ll be missed, but I look forward to your columns from Serbia. I agree that Tuberville is a complete dimwit even by Capitol Hill standards. How do you explain his success as a football coach, which at least requires some smarts?
Safe travels Bob! I hope you continue to write Bully Pulpit from abroad. In the meantime I’m staying stateside and plan to do my damndest over the next four years, (and with luck, beyond), to maintain my “joie de vivre out the wazoo”.
Another gem, Bob, which delivered a laugh I didn't know how much I really needed. I too had thought of tRump's assemblage of deplorables as a Cabinet of the good Doctor Caligary -- and I'd say "great minds think alike," but alas, my aging gray matter is mediocre on the best of days.
Enjoy your temporary exile while we huddled masses here at home -- in what I've come to think of as the "quiet war" period of transition -- await the crowning of the New King Glorious Leader tRumpus Maximus. I'm not sure that the traditional cries of "Happy New Year" will have much resonance in two weeks, but as the wise cynics say, "It is what it is."
All the best to you and yours in the holidaze. We await your return...
PS: I've gotta ask again ... is FF gone for good, or are there new episodes up that my aging computer simply cannot, for some mysterious reason, access?
I too love Serbia, Bob. The people are absolutely wonderful (presuming you're not a filthy Alban(ian) or ... worse a filthier Kosovar) and the countryside is just beautiful. The people I met there were unfailingly nice and welcomed me with open arms. I still have a bottle of slivovitz. Something Bee. I'm too lazy to go down to the bar and find it to tell you the exact name. I got it back in the 90s, a gift from my Serbian dealer (medical products, not pharmaceuticals). It took the enamel off three of my teeth. I'm hoping that if I age it for another 30 years it will mellow into something more akin to sulphuric acid. But it'll be someone else's problem then as the actuarial tables for me don't go quite that far.
Travel safely and travel well. United Polaris class for the leap across the water, then a day or two in Milan or Rome before the flight to Belgrade.
I'm looking forward to силеџија проповедаоница. I hope it will include cultural experiences in Serbia and perhaps the occasional recipe! As an aside, my wife and I just returned from Chicago. One night there we dined at a Croatian restaurant called Rose Mary. Absolutely fantastic food. Almost as good as in Pula.

Thanks, Jim
It's not all about IQ. Intelligence requires knowledge, intellectual curiosity, intellectual honesty and the ability to separate evidence from belief.
Unabomb was smart.
They played with a lot of heart. They left it all on the field. There's no I in team, but there is in Tuberville. And a 't'.
That's how.

There is an old adage in business that A's hire A's and B's hire C's. Now we've gotten to see what C's hire.
