Interesting to imagine what "free market baseball" would look like. More (less quality) teams might be a possibility. Of course, clubs would be 100% responsible for procuring, building, and maintaining fields (no city tax subsidies) so the # of teams might fall. Most stadiums are mostly empty most of the time, so maybe the cities can take-back that real estate for small, low income housing and the clubs can play at universities.
I know Jackie Robinson publicly supported Curt Flood, but Flood's comment about a "well-paid slave" was in poor taste.
