Pluto
So, I guess I should also tell you about this episode (event that took place), because it figures in. Friday, OK. I’m meeting Mr. H at the Ramada, Mahapandita Mary Lou calls and says she and Candy want to have me over for salsa and a drink (not alcohol!) at 6:30. I need to be at the hotel by 8, so I’m, like, yeah, for sure, just to stop by. Which I do. They have a super nice condo at 334 Otero St.
I taxi over there and it all seems like it’s going to be sweet. I say that, because when I get out of the car, for the first time I notice the aroma of the evening, the perfume of desert flowers rising with the afternoon heat in an invisible cloud of delicious. I’m usually not outdoors at this hour, a couple of hours before dusk, and so I’ve missed this burst of pheromones from Mother Earth. That puts me in a pretty good mood, and also the condo is really nice, adobe like desert suntan. Exposed beams. Really nice Talavera tile work. Stainless steel kitchen. French doors. Super gorgeous. And as Mary Lou leads me in, I realize that the sofa, which I slept on my first night in town, is a fantastic Aztec print that looks a lot like my robe. But here’s the weird part. When I get there, besides Mary Lou, there’s Candy … and there’s Lotus.
