Great stuff! A few years ago the editor of some small town newspaper in Iowa or Kansas or somewhere wrote a couple of op eds for the Times (or maybe the Post) extolling the virtues of the booboisie and shaming the elites for not taking them seriously. He was seemingly blind to the fact that while the booboisie are serious about their ignorance, their ignorance is not a virtue to be celebrated.
I was driving through a suburb, red in cast and slack of jaw the other day, and a circa 1972 pos pickup truck with two middle-aged guys with beards that ZZ Top would envy for both length and scraggliness, flying an American flag on one side and a MAGGOT flag on the other. I so wish it hadnt passed so quickly and that I'd gotten a photo. Because Bob, that truck epitomized what an America made great again looks like.
Clearly our future lies not in a battle of educated teams pushing back the frontiers of knowledge, building new products and new industries, conquering old diseases and scourges, it lies in drinking impressive quantities of beer, huntin' varmints, and manufacturing widgets by hand.
